A man standing outdoors on a sunny day, wearing a white jacket, white T-shirt, light jeans, a blue cap, and a watch, with urban buildings and a blurred cityscape in the background.

Born and raised in LA’s Mid City, JmIsJustMe is the son of painter Louis Johnson- creativity has always been in his DNA. A former college basketball player turned artist, producer, and web show host, he built his artistry the same way he built his game: discipline and determination.

His sound lives at the intersection of West Coast & alternative hip-hop, Neo-Soul, Jazz, and West Coast R&B - drawing influence from Miles Davis to Nipsey Hussle. A mix of the Boom Bap soul of A Tribe called Quest meets the boundary-pushing ambition of Kanye West, filtered through the lens of real Los Angeles life.

After a breakup, job loss, and financial hardship that left most counting him out, JmIsJustMe disappeared into the hustle. 4 years and 100 songs later, he emerged with a sound that is aligned with his message of self love, self awareness, and clarity, His mission is simple: use his story to help inspire positivity to those who are needing it.
